Residencies
The Artist
in Residence program, through which the institute aims to enable participants
to become a part of the diverse field of study offered at institute,
seeks to introduce an interactive form of learning experience, for
both the students at the college and the Artist in Residence who,
through their experiences and projects exchange ideas and collaborates
events, conferences and research thus form alliances in producing
new creative work.
Residencies Available:
Junior Residencies: Each year 2 residencies are offered to upcoming
young talented scholars /artists/students.
Senior Residencies: Each year 2 Residencies are offered to senior
experienced Artists/Professionals/Scholars in their respective fields.
Period of Residency: Up to 2 months, and not less
than 1 month time.
Dates of the Residency: To be fixed by mutual agreement
during the academic sessions: i) September to December ii) February
to June.
Facilities Provided: Shared workspace and studio,
equipment and facilities on campus depending on nature of project/
work to be undertaken.
Nature of Bursary: Round Trip travel, accommodation
for two months in individual room in two bedrooms flat with shared
kitchen and bathrooms and monthly stipend.
Eligibility: Professional visual artists, art historians,
sociologists, anthropologists, multimedia professionals, musicians,
musicologists, performing artists, architects, interior designers,
sculptors, painters, designers of demonstrated ability and commitment.
The artist should have produced an independent body of work, and received
public recognition of their work. The recipient will be expected to
offer a work shop to undergraduate/ graduate students and to teach/
contribute towards an academic course.
How to apply: By sending the completed application
form with a curriculum vita, a recent photo, a brief statement of
intent, two letters of reference, a description of the proposed project/
workshop and documents/ slides/ CDs of recent work where applicable.
