B) Thesis Documentation

This series of Thesis Catalogue contains a short description of the Thesis classes of passed out in various years. The students are grouped under their respective departments: Fine Arts, Architecture, and Design. For each student who passed with Distinction and Honours, besides the student’s name, photograph, and images of the work, a brief description of thesis project is also provided. The aim of this thesis documentation is to maintain a record of each outgoing class and a glimpse of all outstanding work.

C) Art Historical and Archival Publications

The Centre has initiated many research projects to document the art and craft traditions of the region. Drawing on archival records, these research and publishing projects highlight the traditional arts and crafts in the subcontinent.

D) Historical Re-Prints

The Historical Re-Print Series of the Research and Publication Centre is an effort by the National College of Arts to re-visit and re-think our past and its relationship to the present. The books in this series, which date back to the British colonial period -- a period that coincides with the onset of modernity in the subcontinent – have been selected on the basis of their importance in informing and determining contemporary thought and understanding in the region. These texts are thus part of the archive that we need to consult if we are to understand the genealogy of our post-colonial present. Being part of the bibliography of Empire, these books provide the ideological and political justification of British colonialism in South Asia .

E) Artists and Craftpersons Series

The series is intended to document and publish the contributions of leading Pakistani artists and craftspersons, their lives, careers, major exhibitions, and place of work. The monographs will be published simultaneously with an exhibition of the artist and craftsperson’s work belonging to various discipline and documenting different phases of art history. With fewer works of arts and crafts on permanent display in galleries and museums, these publications are likely to provide source material and documents a multi-layered cultural history.

F) Faculty/Student Research Programme

The Centre provides an overarching structure and research facilities to encourage and enable independent and collaborative research projects for the faculty. Significantly, it provides opportunities to graduate and post-graduate students to gain research experience and publishing skills.

H) Independent Research Programme

The RPC also welcomes independent authors and researchers outside academia to publish through the Centre. We support research and publish manuscripts of merit in English and Urdu in the field of art, design, architecture, archeology and history. On the recommendation of independent panel of reviewers, the Advisory Committee of RPC has approved the manuscripts one in Urdu and other in English.
