Theatre Workshops

The Department of Theatre at NCA, Rawalpindi is offering 3 week-long theatre workshops in disciplines of production skills, acting and mime and movement, led by distinguished practitioners, giving students the opportunity for an introduction to industry skills.

Students may take a full 3-week workshop or opt for 1 week modules.*

Acting
Rehan Sheikh on characterization and improvisation (2-6 June)
Salman Shahid on interpretation of script for the actor (9-13 June)
Claire Pamment on styles of performance (16-20 June)

Storytelling in Mime and Movement
Qasim Riza Shaheen on dance for non-dancers (30 June-4 July)
Fazal Jatt on musical theatre: nautanki (7-11 July)
Indu Mitha on rites and rituals (14-18 July)

Devising through to production with Claire Pamment, Qasim Riza Shaeen, Tulin Khalid-Azim and Osman Khalid Butt.
Working from visual and textual stimulus, students will devise a production under the tutelage of the theatre faculty which will incorporate acting, scenography, choreography, and interpretation of texts.
*For this workshop students must enroll for the full 3 weeks

Fees
3 week long workshop: 5,000rs each. Students who enroll on a 3-week long workshop are eligible to 50% discount on future theatre workshops.
1 week long module: 3,000rs each.

Timings
All workshops take place between 10am-4.30pm as per the schedule above.

Admission Procedure
Applicants should complete application form from the department. Thereafter, students may be requested to attend an interview/audition, or if residing out-city conduct a telephone interview. Fees should be paid in full in advance of each workshop.
