The Board of Governors of the National College of Arts convened under the chairmanship of the Honourable Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training and Chairperson of the Board. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, and other esteemed board members discussed key academic and administrative developments at NCA.
During the meeting, the board acknowledged the approval of two new undergraduate programmes by the Academic Council, recognising them as a significant step toward expanding NCA’s academic offerings. The committee also endorsed the Vice Chancellor’s vision of "Unfolding NCA on Mall Road," an initiative aimed at integrating the college with its historic surroundings and transforming it into a vibrant cultural and recreational avenue.
Additionally, the board reviewed progress on the construction of NCA’s new eleven floor undergraduate block, which is set to be a state of the art facility. The building will feature a cinema on the top floor, a dedicated culinary arts space, and fully self sufficient amenities to enhance the academic and creative experience for students.
Following the session, the delegation, led by the Vice Chancellor, visited the NCA Thesis Display 2024, where they met the graduating students and explored their creative projects. The honourable visitors commended the students' innovative work and emphasised the importance of arts education in bringing up cultural identity and creative industries.
