Piano Recital by
Maxime Zecchini

The National College of Arts, Lahore in collaboration with Embassy of France in Pakistan had the distinct honor of hosting world-renowned pianist, Maxime Zecchini, from France on the 2nd of October, 2023 at Shakir Ali Auditorium. This remarkable event was graced by the presence of esteemed Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, the American Consul General, and distinguished members of the French Embassy, as well as others including faculty and the students.

The event was moderated by Ateeq-ur-Rahman, and the evening's musical journey began with a powerful instrumental rendition of the National Anthem, performed by Maxime Zecchini on the piano, Solomon Majid on electric guitar, Jordan on acoustic guitar, Uzziah Sarfaraz on bass guitar, and Ustad Raza Shaukat on Tabla, enthralling the audience with an instrumental rendition of The National Anthem. Zecchini then took center stage, delivering a breathtaking solo performance that spanned Western classical, film, and popular French pieces.

Following his solo act, the talented performers from the NCA Music Department had the privilege of collaborating with him. Together, they presented two distinctive instrumental pieces, one in Raag Jog and the other in Raag Yaman. The evening reached its crescendo as all the musicians, led by Maxime Zecchini, came together to perform the French National Anthem, a symbol of unity and friendship between France and Pakistan.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, in his remarks, expressed his delight at the opportunity to host such a renowned artist and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and power of music to transcend borders and foster goodwill among nations. The American Consul General and members of the French Embassy also shared their appreciation for the event, underlining the significance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening international ties.
